2017/07/07 Update: The Git-R-Done Golf Classic Raises $265K!
Lincoln, NE (July 7, 2017)- If you want to join the Git-R-Done Golf Classic, you don’t have to be good at golf, but you do need a big heart. The annual event hosted by comedian Larry the Cable Guy, continues to bring fun, laughter and a little golf, all while raising money for The Git-R-Done Foundation’s mission to support children’s and veterans’ charities across the country. The two-day event netted $265,000!
This year brought the biggest celebrity names including Super Bowl champions Joe Theismann, Dwight Hicks and Jim McMahon, World Series champions, David Wells, Kevin Millar, and Brad Penny, country stars Colt Ford, Ira Dean and Dan Tyminski, Medal of Honor Recipient, Sal Giunta, Supermodel Kim Alexis, Home Improvement’s Debbe Dunning, and more!
“I’m so bad my caddie is throwing my clubs!,” said Larry the Cable Guy. “Seriously though, I’m so excited to have celebrities and sponsors from across the country and right here in Nebraska join us! For a great cause!”
The Git-R-Done Foundation’s lead gift is making a difference in the thousands of babies born every year at Bryan Medical Center with seizer monitoring technology, providing the most accurate brain monitoring activities so that seizure intensities and sources can be interpreted and addressed in real time. Infant seizures are usually difficult to recognize. A Cerebral Function Monitor (CFM) can capture highly sensitive and minor seizures, allowing for early detection and immediate treatment. When seizures are diagnosed early on, it can prevent long term physical and mental impairment, including death.
“We are thrilled the Git-R-Done Foundation is again supporting Bryan Health this year by providing funding for Cerebral Function Monitors,” said Bob Ravenscroft, Bryan Health Vice President. “These special monitors help us detect and treat infant seizures. The Git-R-Done Foundation has been a great friend of Bryan and more importantly, an even better friend to our littlest patients and their families.”
